Larimar, is a rare, blue variety of pectolite found exclusively in the Dominican Republic, particularly in the province of Barahona. It forms within volcanic rocks, specifically in cavities and fractures created by volcanic activity. Larimar's unique blue coloration is attributed to the presence of copper impurities within its crystal structure. The mineral's formation is thought to occur through a combination of volcanic activity, hydrothermal processes, and the alteration of existing pectolite deposits.
Larimar is believed to possess calming and soothing properties, aiding in stress reduction and promoting relaxation. It is also thought to enhance communication skills and facilitate clear expression of emotions
