Velvet Cat Eye Malachite originates from deposits where malachite, a copper carbonate mineral, undergoes alteration due to the presence of fluids rich in copper ions. This alteration leads to the formation of fibrous malachite crystals with a velvety texture, creating the distinctive appearance of Velvet Malachite.
The chatoyancy, or "cat's eye" effect, is caused by parallel fibrous structures within the stone that reflect light in a single, concentrated band.
Metaphysically, Velvet Malachite is believed to enhance intuition, protect against negative energies, and promote inner strength and resilience
