Prehnite typically forms in hydrothermal veins and cavities within igneous rocks, particularly basaltic rocks. Prehnite may develop as a secondary mineral in metamorphic rocks like marble or schist, undergoing alteration and recrystallization processes. The green color of Prehnite originates from the iron content in its chemical composition.
